Greene County FHFH in Indiana donated ground venison to Bloomfield Community Food Pantry and we received a thank you note from them:
“Dear Brady and FHFH organization,
Thank you, thank you for the donation of 442 pounds of ground venison. Several people ask for deer meat when they come to the food pantry and now we can offer it to them.
The Bloomfield Food Pantry is seeing more people needing help with food insecurity. We are open three days a week from 9:00 AM – 11:00 Am and one evening 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM.
You bless many families and the pantry. Thank you again!
God bless you,

Bloomfield Community Food Pantry is a community-wide service that is administered by Bloomfield First Baptist Church to provide food to those in need. They are staffed entirely by volunteers from several different churches in the Bloomfield area. Per month, they see an average of 90 different families come through their pantry.

Cow Donation Provides Over 500 Pounds of Meat
Jan 30, 2023 | News
When Tom Norman became the coordinator for Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry of Wayne County in Ohio, he talked about building more awareness for the ministry, and increasing the number of people they could help each year. One of his goals was to raise enough money to buy and process a cow to provide meat for hungry people outside of hunting season. The group had prayed about this for awhile and really hadn’t figured anything out.
One day while out hunting, Tom received a message from C.F. Ranch and Cattle Company with an answer to prayer – they wanted to DONATE a cow! Tom and the group say they have been amazed watching God work to feed the hungry of Wayne County through FHFH.
Thanks to this cow donation from C.F. Ranch and Cattle, FHFH distributed over 500 pounds of hamburger for distribution to several groups around Wayne County including: People to People, the Salvation Army, Apple Creek United Methodist Church, and Dalton Presbyterian. This generous donation provided over 2,000 protein portions for the hungry of the community. God is Good!
Ohio Division of Wildlife Gives $25,000 to Help Feed the Hungry
Jan 19, 2023 | News
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources(ODNR) Division of Wildlife has contributed $25,000 in a grant to Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry (FHFH) to support local food banks with donated venison. The organization will use the funding to pay for white-tailed deer harvested by hunters to be processed and distributed to charitable organizations in Ohio. Additional funding will be secured by FHFH with a goal to match or exceed the amount provided by the grant.
Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry, assisted by the Division of Wildlife’s grant, covers the processing cost for deer donated by hunters for the program. FHFH expects to pay the processing cost for 350 deer with this grant alone, each of which yields approximately 50 pounds of venison and 200 meals.
“This generous grant from the Ohio Division of Wildlife will help the hunters of Ohio provide nutritious meat for thousands of meals to the hungry,” said FHFH Executive Director Josh Wilson. “Support from the Division has been instrumental in helping our program expand to serve the needy in so many communities across the state. We are very grateful for their continued partnership!”
“I’m proud that the Division of Wildlife and Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry can combine their resources to put even more venison on the table for the people who need it most,” said Division of Wildlife Chief Kendra Wecker.
The mission of the Division of Wildlife is to conserve and improve fish and wildlife resources and their habitats for sustainable use and appreciation by all. Visit wildohio.gov to find out more. ODNR ensures a balance between wise use and protection of our natural resources for the benefit of all. Visit the ODNR website at ohiodnr.gov.

The Robert T. Timmons, Sr. Fund of the Coshocton Foundation Provides Funding to FHFH
Jan 9, 2023 | News
The Robert T. Timmons, Sr. Fund of the Coshocton Foundation in Ohio has awarded $1,000 grant funding to Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry, which will provide approximately 2,000 servings of nutritious meat to the food banks and programs that feed the hungry of Coshocton County, Ohio.
Protein and meat products are one of the top items needed by food banks. The expensive price of meat and its limited shelf life prevent it from being a readily accessible food item by food banks. The meat donated to the food banks and feeding ministries by FHFH will help provide much needed nutrition to people in need.
“Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry epitomizes coming together to help your neighbor in need,” says Josh Wilson, FHFH Executive Director. “On behalf of FHFH and those in Coshocton County who struggle with hunger, we thank the Robert T. Timmons, Sr. Fund of the Coshocton Foundation for their generosity and support of our mission to end hunger.”
The Coshocton Foundation was created in 1967 through a $685,000 bequest from Adolph Golden, a prominent Coshocton merchant and harness racing enthusiast. In 1989, the late Edward and Frances Montgomery gave broader giving a significant boost by establishing a challenge fund that would match gifts to the Foundation’s unrestricted fund. The fund was set up to match a maximum of $500,000 over a period of ten years. The breadth of that donor base continues to grow as more and more people become aware of the Foundation’s activities and aware of the fact that gifts of any size are welcome and beneficial to the Coshocton County community.

Hunters Asked to “Hunt Down Hunger” for Christmas
Dec 13, 2022 | News
Hunters across America can help feed the needy of their communities this Christmas by donating nutritious meat from harvested game to charitable organizations and ministries.
Hagerstown, MD – December 13, 2022 – Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry, the national venison donation ministry, announced today the launch of a new Hunt Down Hunger campaign. Hunt Down Hunger is a national campaign encouraging hunters across America to help feed the hungry by donating their legally harvested game such as deer and elk to local hunger relief charities and ministries. The campaign will help individuals and families this Christmas and beyond, as costs for necessities such as food and fuel have risen.
Participating local butcher shops have agreed to receive and process the donations into nutritious meat at a discounted price for Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry and other similar organizations found in 37 states. These organizations raise money to pay the processing bills. The meat is then distributed free of charge to community food banks, soup kitchens, and other hunger relief programs to help feed the needy.
Over the past 25 years Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry has facilitated the donation, processing, and distribution of meat for 23 million meal servings to hungry individuals, children, and families across the country. During that same time, the hunters for the hungry organizations across America have collectively provided a staggering 10 times that amount or more – meat for hundreds of millions of meals!
“Throughout history, hunters have provided food for their families and communities, and their generosity is still needed and appreciated today,” said Josh Wilson, Executive Director of Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry. “And in the Bible we see time and again that God has great compassion for the poor and needy. We are grateful for this opportunity He has provided to help hunters bless their hungry neighbors.”
Additional organizations and businesses related to hunting and the outdoors are invited to join in support of the Hunt Down Hunger campaign.
“The Hunters’ Leadership Forum is grateful for the opportunity to partner with organizations like Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry to help solve the hunger issue in the United States,” said Peter Churchbourne from the NRA Hunters’ Leadership Forum. “We encourage the donation of game meat to help with this effort, and advocate for sharing the important role hunters fill in solving the food security equation. We look forward to building future campaigns that will add much needed value, funding, and awareness to this extremely important effort.”
As many people prepare to celebrate Christmas and other winter holidays with family gatherings and warm meals, it is important to remember the less fortunate among us. The Hunt Down Hunger campaign aims to help by mobilizing hunter participation and public support for the various organizations like Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry that enable hunters to provide meat for their neighbors in need.
