The Wayne County Community Foundation in Ohio has awarded $3,500 grant funding to Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry, which will provide over 5,600 servings of nutritious meat to the food banks and programs that feed people of Wayne County who are in need.
Protein and meat products are one of the top items needed by food banks. The expensive price of meat and its limited shelf life prevent it from being a readily accessible food item by food banks. The meat donated to the food banks and feeding ministries by FHFH will help provide much needed nutrition to people in need.
“Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry epitomizes coming together to help your neighbor in need,” says Josh Wilson, FHFH Executive Director. “On behalf of FHFH and those in Wayne County who struggle with hunger, we thank the Wayne County Community Foundation for their generosity and support of our mission to end hunger.”
The Wayne County Community Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) community organization that works to strengthen the community we all share by helping donors make a lasting difference with their philanthropic endeavors – connecting their dreams and passions with causes that matter. Established in 1978 with a single gift of $1,000, WCCF has become the steward of over 570 separate funds created from bequests and gifts, each with their own philanthropic purpose to support the future of our community now – and for many years to come.
Inspired by a passion for the hunt and compassion for the hungry, FHFH is committed to addressing the problem of hunger in America. Since 1997 the organization has provided over 22 million servings of meat to those in need in communities nationwide. To learn more visit FeedingtheHungry.org.
