FHFH donated much venison to Aaron’s Place in Denton, Maryland. We received this heart warming note of appreciation for the venison donation:
“Venison is a vital source of protein for food pantries and the communities we serve on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Protein remains one of the most requested and challenging items to source for food banks, making donations of ground venison especially valuable. Protein-rich foods like Venison are in high demand due to their nutritional value and relative scarcity in food bank inventories. Whenever venison is distributed, it is not only a valuable source of nutrition, but also a symbol of generosity and community spirit. The appreciation from neighbors is heartfelt, some seem like they cannot get enough, and these donations truly have a positive impact in our community.
Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry (FHFH) is a key partner in addressing the need for protein. Venison donations have a significant impact on local food security and is much appreciated by the community and pantries. Aaron’s Place is extremely thankful and would like to express our deep gratitude for the venison donations we receive to distribute to our neighbors. It is a win-win situation for all. The neighbors get much need protein, and the food pantries are given the means to help others, so thank you.
The collaborative efforts of hunters, processors like Tuckahoe River Deer and Fraser Butcher Shop, Maryland Food Bank and organizations like FHFH are essential to the ongoing fight against hunger in Maryland and we cannot thank you enough!!!
A neighbor stated that ‘Getting the venison was like heaven sent,'” and he just wanted to thank us over and over again.”
